About

Built by operators.
For operators.

We've been the GM at 11 PM with the sales report on the screen and three different reviews open in different tabs. Syphor exists because that operator deserves a better morning.

Why we exist

Most hospitality intelligence tools are reports. They tell you what already happened. The food cost was high last week. Comp set won on weekends. Your wine attach is down. Useful, sometimes. But last week's loss is locked in — you can't unspill it.

Syphor is different. It reads every system you run — POS, reservations, reviews, accounting, schedules, weather, competitors — and writes one paragraph at 6:30 AM. The three things that need you today. While they're still preventable. While the opportunity is still open.

We built it the way we wished a tool would have been built when we ran restaurants. Honest with the numbers. Calm with the voice. Useful in the moment. Your POS stays. Your reservations stay. But the morning ritual of piecing together twenty reports? That, we replace.

What stays · What we replace · What we add

  • Your accounting (QuickBooks, Sage, R365)
  • Your reviews (Google, Yelp, Tripadvisor)
  • Your scheduling (7shifts, HotSchedules)
WHAT WE REPLACE

  • The cross-tool spreadsheet
  • The "let me pull a report" delay
  • The morning report ritual
  • The Saturday-night food cost mystery
  • The end-of-month variance autopsy
  • The $90K analyst hire you can't afford
  • The dashboard nobody opens
  • The "I'll check and get back to you"
  • The board-prep variance marathon
  • The shift-handoff sticky note
  • The manual competitor price scan
  • The review-monitoring tab everyone forgets
  • The "what did we do last year on this day?" lookback

  • The Logbook with memoryOperator notes tied to the numbers they explain
  • Auto-generated meeting prepOwnership talking points written from the data
  • Voice memo captureTalk into your phone in the kitchen; it lands in the Brief
  • Anomaly thresholds learned from your dataNot generic industry averages
  • Brief delivered at 6 AM every dayNot "run a report when you remember"
  • One pane of glass across every propertyNo login swap, no tool-hopping
Plus the Sandbox (test changes before you commit), the Logbook (every shift note searchable), the Playbooks (one property's win pushed to all), the Ingest (drop any file, Syphor reads it). All built in.
We don't ask you to switch a single piece of your stack. We read what's there, replace the work between the systems, and add the layer you didn't have before.
How Syphor started

In 2025, Paul was running Aireus and watching operators drown in reports. Cathy and Scott had just sold CaTECH Systems and were looking for the next thing worth building. Geoff was building the data pipes nobody else wanted to touch. The four of us realized the same thing at the same time — hospitality has a hundred reporting tools and no morning analyst. So we built one.

Leadership
Cathy Forrestall
CEO
Built and sold CaTECH Systems — one of North America's largest technology infrastructure firms — in 2025. Brings the scale-up muscle to Syphor: how you grow a tech company without losing the customer.
Scott Forrestall
BOARD CHAIRMAN
Founded CaTECH Systems in 1989. Built it for 35 years into a market leader, then sold it in 2025. Now chairs Syphor's board with the long-view perspective of someone who's done it before.
Paul Perri
PRESIDENT & COO
President & COO at Aireus, the iPad-based hospitality POS. Twenty years building POS for restaurants and hotels — Aireus, Micros, HSI Canada. Knows where operators actually feel pain because he has been in the back office at midnight.
Geoff Marshall
CIO
Engineer and architect of hospitality systems. Multiple university degrees. Has spent his career inside the data pipes of the industry — HSI, Micros, Aireus. The technical muscle behind how Syphor actually reads the stack.
What we believe
01

Operator language always.

Plain English. Short sentences. Same tone in a text to a chef and on the homepage.

02

Prevention beats reporting.

We catch losses while they're still preventable. Past-tense reports are not enough.

03

Read what's already there.

Your POS stays. Your reservations stay. Your accounting stays. We read from them.

04

Honest with the numbers.

Confidence scores on every claim. The math behind every number. No black boxes.

05

We never claim what we haven't built.

If an integration isn't live, it isn't on the page.

06

Localization by default.

Currency, language, and tax handled across regions. Built for hospitality groups operating across borders.

What we don't do

We don't replace your POS.

Your operational systems stay. We read from them. We're the analyst layer on top.

We don't sell or share your data.

Ever. Your data trains our model for you only. We don't sell aggregate insights to anyone.

We don't run on ads.

Operators pay us. That's the only relationship. No ads, no sponsored data, no kickbacks.

WHERE WE WORK

Based in Toronto. Working with operators across the globe.
